SWELL Movie 2019

Swell is a 2019 drama film about a young woman traveling to find her sister who has never met for 18 years at the request of her grandfather. The drama was written and directed by Justin Lee (A Reckoning), Solomon Quinn, (Big Legend), while the film stars are Summer Spiro, Corbin Bernsen, Gabrielle Stone, Brennan Murray, Kuali’i Wittman, and releases starting March 26, 2019 with time 96 minutes.

Synopsis of the film Swell 2019

Tess (Summer Spiro) is now 30 years old. She is a girl surfing in California with a troubled past that is still looking for her true self. She is smart and curious. She has a house on the beach, riding waves and integrating with nature.

She is now close to her grandfather, Harold (Corbin Bernsen) even though he is currently in hospital due to severe illness. Harold himself had a not-so-good past. He was dying, so he decided it was time for Tess to reunite with his sister who had been separated for a long time as children.

Although initially reluctant, Tess finally left to look for her brother. She took to the streets bringing her best friend Vera (Gabrielle Stone), a rather cynical woman to adventure together.

My Review

Intended right for an audience or family audience, Swell is a small film the results of director Justin Lee. Although Lee made several action films that contained violent scenes, Swell was safe to watch for almost all groups. This contains a simple message but can affect the emotions of the audience.
